Falcons Handled the Bucs but can they do the same to the Giants?

Falcons Handled the Bucs but can they do the Same to the Giants?

The Atlanta Falcons had every aspect of their game clicking Sunday in the Dome against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.  Atlanta beat Tampa Bay by a final score of 45-24.  There was a lot at stake with the game against Tamp Bay and other games taking place that had playoff implications on the Falcons.  When all is said and done the Atlanta Falcons will be facing the New York Giants in Metlife Stadium next Sunday at 1 p.m.  The Falcons received the 5th seed this year while just a year ago they were a number 1 seed.  As a 1 seed the Falcons were embarrassed in front of their home fans as Aaron Rodgers manhandled the Falcons.

It is hard to believe that the Atlanta Falcons began the season 2-3 and recovered to finish 8-3 on the remaining games and overall for the regular season they were 10-6.  The Falcons need to take count their blessings in Detroit’s loss to Green Bay because that gave Atlanta the 5th seed in the NFC.  Had the Falcons not received the 5th seed they would have been set to face Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints.

Atlanta Falcons head coach elected to rest his starters.  In fact, Matt Ryan played a little less than a half.  Ryan made history when he set a new-single season franchise record passing yardage.  Powerful running back Michael Turner also rested during the second half.  The Atlanta Falcons defense sure did “RISE UP” with their three interceptions.  One of the three interceptions was taken back to the house by Curtis Lofton for six points.  Julio Jones hauled in two touchdowns on the afternoon; I sure do hope he can keep this momentum up headed to the playoffs.

I sure do hope the Falcons “RISE UP” against the New York Giants this coming Sunday!
